ABOUT aha INN ON THE SQUARE
Overlooking the vibrant and colourful Green Market Square in Cape Town, aha Inn on the Square Cape Town, is a contemporary business and leisure hotel, representing a young, dynamic and colourful mid-market South African brand.
Housed in one of Cape Town’s oldest buildings, aha Inn on the Square Cape Town is conveniently located in the corporate business and government district and can be found only 25km from Cape Town International Airport. What’s more, the Cape Town International Conventional Centre is a mere 15 minute walk from the hotel, and within a stone’s throw of many world-class restaurants, lively bars, and entertainment venues.
aha Inn on the Square Cape Town’s in-house restaurant, DISH, offers quality South African cuisine. The menu is complemented by a selection of local and imported wines that can be enjoyed either in the restaurant, Cobble & Stone Pub or on the terrace.
Second time we had stayed at Inn On The Square and remain convinced of its value for money. It’s a period styled hotel and the metal windows did not close completely due to age and wear and tear, hence noisy when windy.
Rooms clean and adequate, facilities offered small but OK, pool etc. On both occasions we seemed to suffer from supply problems, first time no Castle beer for several days and on the second occasion no milk available in rooms, and what there was was days out of date. In the bar accessing tonic water seems to be problematic, on both occasions. Overall though, staff were very friendly and helpful and food was good, although we had to go with the buffet choices of the groups using the hotel.

We were on the market square side, during the day was fine but regulations state they must dismantle everything daily.
The noise in the morning was tolerable as they banged and clanged putting things back together. We only had breakfast there and it was fine, nothing special. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a small roof top pool but it was so cold we couldn’t stay in. They supply towels and very comfortable lounges as well. The location is what sold us. Just a few steps away are many restaurants and cafes. The market is just outside the lobby door, you can get lots of clothes, jewelry, carvings. If you go to the left as you leave the lobby and up to the next street there is a Hop on Hop off bus stop. We used this for the two of the days we were there and really got to see a lot of the city, well worth the price.
