Imbabala Lodge

The Imbabala Lodge is an unspoilt wilderness experience, on the banks of the Zambezi, where guests rapidly become friends.

Imbabala was originally built in 1987 and first opened in 1988. Despite being completely refurbished over the years, Imbabala is still a small unpretentious safari camp offering a true “African Safari Experience”.

Imbabala Lodge offers exclusive thatch lodge accommodation with en-suite facilities. All meals are excellently prepared by our competent chefs; whether a bush dinner on the banks of the Zambezi, a relaxed African-style spread at the dining area under the trees, or an intimate affair served under the stars.

Imbabala offers some of the most incredible game viewing and bird watching in the region, in the seclusion of a private National Parks concession. The 5,000 Acre (2,023 Ha) concession has 14 kilometers of private Zambezi river frontage and borders the Chobe Forest Reserve, which is renowned for its massive Elephant population.

Imbabala Lodge’s experienced guides are on hand for all morning, afternoon and night game tracking drives in open safari vehicles. Exploring the Zambezi River by boat affords guests an exclusive river experience. You can be sure of an exceptional bird watching experience; ranging from water birds to shy forest dwellers.

“We had a holiday of a lifetime, with staff treating us like royalty and food quality that could out do any 5 star restaurant.”
